OZONE BAR – THE RITZ CARLTON, KOWLOON, Hong Kong, SAR, China – As I have stated before, Hong Kong has a variety of places to experience the nightlife. There is of course the more touristy places such as Lan Kwai Fong and Wan Chai, but there are also more upscale bars. One of these bars is called Ozone. It is located in the Ritz Carlton in Kowloon. It is also the highest bar in the world. The bar is dimly lit and offers impressive views of Hong Kong and the harbor, however, when I went it was too cloudy to see anything. There is also an outside deck that circles around the regular bar. Be for warned though, this bar is not cheap. Drinks can start well above 100 HKD (approximately $12 USD), where as drinks in Lan Kwai Fong hover around 80 HKD (approximately $10 USD). Beer is the cheapest. The food is also extremely expensive. I ordered an ‘Old Fashioned’, which cost 167 HKD (approximately $20 USD). Although I felt that this was quite pricey for a drink, I wrote off my conscience by saying it was a once in a lifetime experience. As this is an upscale club it is expected that those dining or drinking here are dressed nicely. Aside from the prices, it is a place to say you visited and trust me nothing sounds cooler than saying you drank at the highest bar in the world.
