Night Life – Part 1 – LKF

LAN KWAI FONG, CENTRAL, Hong Kong, SAR, China – Hong Kong is a bustling metropolitan city and a major hub for business and international travelers. As such Hong Kong has a great nightlife scene. The night life in Hong Kong can range from your average bar or to an upscale night club.

However, if you are looking for the standard and most notable party district, then look no further than Lan Kwai Fong. Lan Kwai Fong is a party district located in Central, Hong Kong, just up the street from the Central D2 exit of the MTR. It is a loop of clubs and bars and frequented by western travelers. A majority of this area is closed off from traffic, with the exception of taxis.  The top clubs, I would say are Club 97, OTTO, and The China Club. Another club, famous for their drinks that are on fire is Likuid. There are also high end clubs, such as the Beijing Club, which costs guys $350 HKD just to enter (approximately $43.75 USD).

Thursday is lady’s night and free drinks are given out to women. The clubs are open late until early in the morning. And drinks are grossly over priced, but it still makes for a good time. The best bet is to stop at a nearby 7-11 (which are almost on every street corner) and to buy a drink there for a fraction of the cost. Although the drinking age in Hong Kong is 18 many clubs only serve you if you are 21 and over. There is also a non-existent or a very relaxed law about open containers on public streets. Lan Kwai Fong is one place that open containers are allowed. The best way to get into any of the clubs is to dress up.
